Broth is a savory liquid made of water in which bones, meat, fish, or vegetables have been simmered. It can be eaten alone, but is most commonly used to prepare other dishes such as soups, gravies, and sauces.
It is super simple to make and hardly takes up any of your time once you let it simmer! Homemade broth is so much better than the store bought variety! once you make your own, you won’t go back.
To take advantage of this, make a super big batch and freeze it in half gallon or gallon sized freezer bags and use when needed.
Leftover beef or chicken bones, Ignore this if you are making vegetable broth.
1 large onion, peeled and cut into quarters.
6 large garlic cloves. (fresher the better)
4 large carrots, chopped.
4 large celery stalks, Chopped.
Herbs and spices of your choice. (see note)
Note: We recommend any or all of the following: 15 parsley sprigs, 10 black peppercorns, 8 thyme sprigs, 3 bay leaves, Salt
