Pumpkin Donut Holes
“Please, nobody throw things at me. I know it’s still August, but I can not hold out another minute in the pumpkin department. I’ve been working on pumpkin recipes for a month now to be prepared for you guys this Fall, and I’m sorry. These are so good, I could not keep them from you another second. It would have been wrong.
These are a cross between a donut and a muffin and they are so divine. I packed in as much pumpkin as I possibly could so that these would be dense and rich and fudgy. I like my pumpkin goods to remind me of pumpkin pie in both taste and texture!”
I’m going to start of by saying that I am a seasonal purist. That is, if it’s summer, I think we should be enjoying the summer and putting of thinking about fall until September 1st as the earliest. But, in this line of work I’m constantly bombarded by things “before season” so that everyone can have them ready when the new season finally begins. And this week I have been constantly flooded with fall and Halloween related things, so I stubbornly held on to summer as tightly as I could. Until today.
I went to Starbucks earlier to get a Caramel Apple Spice to soothe my sore throat (have you readers ever done that? I swear by it) and the cinnamon-spiced hot cider gave my taste buds a glimpse of fall. And it was good. So I thought I’d go home and bake up some of these pumpkin donut holes I saw this week. And they were good. And now I’m ready to jump on the fall bandwagon with the rest of you fine folks. So, if you’re ready to usher in the season of coziness and all things pumpkin, please take my suggestion and start out with these yummy donut holes! They are positively fan-fall-tastic.
