How to Grow Strawberries Indoors
“There is something magical about homegrown strawberries. Despite their tiny size, they pack in substantially more flavour than your average grocery store berry. Fresh local strawberries are a summer crop in our area, so we miss them dearly all winter. Fortunately, growing strawberries indoors is both an easy and rewarding container gardening project!”
This time of year, strawberries can be so expensive! But, you can treat yourself and your family to them all year round without spending lots of money by growing them in your home. I highly recommend growing the alpine strain of strawberries inside. They are considered a “gourmet” berry, are rather small, but their flavor outshines their larger cousins. And, since they don’t send out much in the way of runners, the plant focuses more of its energy on growing berries rather than spreading.
