How to Grow Lavender
In my humble opinion, lavender deserves a place in everyone’s garden. It’s gorgeous to look at with a fresh, soothing fragrance and is useful to boot. And it’s pretty easy and low-maintenance to grow.
Did you know lavender attracts beneficial pollinators such as butterflies and bees? It does, and it also repels common pests including deer, rabbits, and other annoying insects. And it can be used medicinally and cosmetically– lavender is soothing to the skin and especially helps as a burn application while its fresh fragrance helps combat insomnia. It also has been used in cooking for years, My favorite way to enjoy it is by adding a little bit to my lemonade, and my sister loves it in her ice cream. Just be sure if you use your lavender in your food that it doesn’t have any pesticides or harmful chemicals on it.
