Homemade Bug Repellent Lotion Bars
It’s not news that being outdoors is great for kids, but you may be surprised by the myriad of benefits it supplies. I learned from mommypotamus.com that when kids spend time outdoors it helps them to foster creativity, improve their mood, increase concentration on tasks once they return inside, foster a healthy immune system, improve their sleep quality, improve eyesight, and of course provide them fresh air and vitamin D. However, we all know that spending time outdoors also leads to the risk of bug bites. And while they’re mostly uncomfortable, they can cause disease.
In this post mommypotamus.com provides recipes for both bug spray and bug repellant lotion bars, and I’ll say that I’m partial to the bars. The effects last longer, I don’t have to worry about my kids inhaling the spray, and it leaves the skin feeling nice and soft. And if you don’t have the essential oils listed in this recipe, lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils are proven bug repellents too.
