Every year my husband and I really deck out our house and yard with Christmas lights. Seriously, we would outdo the Griswold house from Christmas vacation if we could. And for years after seeing my sister-in-law’s lighted Christmas presents, I wanted some to decorate our home. I refused to buy them because they are so stinking expensive!

Fortunately my husband and I found this DIY post and made some lighted Christmas presents of our own. For less than the cost of a set of three small store-bought lit presents, we made five giant ones. All you need is some wood, Christmas lights, deco mesh in your choice of colors, and coordinating ribbon. And just a helpful hint from my experience: you will get a really lovely-looking present if you do two layers of the mesh. It really makes it stand out.
