Will you get a load of these beauties? They make my little coffee-loving heart go pitter-patter.

These are donuts made they way they were supposed to be made, the old fashioned way. You know, make up your dough, roll and cut it out, and deep fry them until you get a lovely cake donut. Sure, it takes a little longer than just baking them up in a donut pan, but you and the people you are serving them to deserve something special, don’t you think?

Over at the Epicurious kitchen they prefer to use a New Orleans-style coffee concentrate to make these, but I couldn’t find any in my neck of the woods so I just used Chameleon cold brew. (The caramel flavor is my jam and makes these donutsreminiscent of a caramel macchiato.) But honestly, this recipe is so good that any ol’ cold brew concentrate will be fab. So be sure to fry up a batch of these babies, brew up some coffee to drink (natch), and enjoy these fabulous donuts.
