30 Flower Seeds to Sow in the Fall
“Want to get a jump start on spring blooms? There are many flowering plants you can sow from seed as the weather gets cooler in the fall. After a winter chill, they will resume growing in the spring.
Many of the seeds that do well with fall planting are actually cold climate plants that need the cold to germinate (sprout). Some types of seeds have very tough coats. After a deep chill, they pop open and germination can begin. Pretty cool!”
Last fall I purchased a boatload of flower seed packets and neglected to look at when to sow them, assuming spring was the right time to sow all flowers. Boy, was I wrong. Once spring rolled around and I started going through my seeds to plant, I realized I’d have to wait another year for my poppies and blanket flowers. Oops! Don’t make a mistake like me, check out this post to see which flower seeds to sow in the fall so they can grace your garden come springtime.
